Backwards J, little box within a box, upside-down L
So, I’m here in Japan, you see, and don’t understand a thing. I now know what it feels like to be young again. It’s like a vortex has surrounded Russell, rendering him deaf and mute from the outside world. This displeases Russell, as he must always be heard.
I guess I’ll eat a piece of humble pie and say I had it coming. I had weeks to prepare and learn more of the language, but instead I came over only knowing words like neko (cat) and booru (ball). Not the most useful in times of conversation.
I’m reduced to pointing at pretty pictures and nodding intently when I want to eat. But it’s worth it. Those Japanese make some of the best food known to man. I’ve had so many fish eggs in the last few days, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few have hatched in my lower intestine.
I’ll have much to share and show you all once I get back to the US of A, but for now, take a gander at a few of these photos. Taken by Russell himself, they were.
These are only a hint of some of the beautiful things to come. Keep your eyes peeled and fingers crossed. As long as the dollar doesn’t completely collapse, I’ll have enough money to jump ship on a cargo barge and head back to the red and white stripes.
With honor,
Russell
