Maybe I want to go and train at the Shaolin Temple afterwards, but as I don't want to be ripped apart like a wishbone upon arrival, I've decided I'll only go if I can do the splits. Find myself unwittingly practising Chinese as I do this... 'eeee!' (one), 'arrrr!' (two), 'yow!' (want)... Also have to get fitter, so evenings often see me running round the lake in the park, followed by stares and whispers of 'guailow' (white ghost). Funny the other day: there's normally a lady there selling rides on toy horses, but she must've been doing it illegally because she was surrounded by a gang of helmeted police, and all the toy horses had been piled into the back of the police pick-up truck. Felt a bit like I was in children's story book... Actually, one of the English books we use at the school teaches 9 year old kids the phrase: 'The hawkers are running away from the police'!
